As a man, going through a custody battle had me on pins and needles. I thought I would lose rights to my children, as the court system tends to favor the mother over the father. I started struggling with my health while still working. I got to the point where I could no longer work. I had to get bilateral hip arthroplasty, among many other health concerns. While I did have health care, I had no income. I relied on my savings, family, and friends. They could only help so much. I went and filed for Disability (SSDI) and was turned down the first time I applied. I did not feel comfortable handling it on my own. I had the pleasure of meeting a woman several years ago named Irianna Blitshtein. She gave me her card and said she was an attorney who handles Social Security Disability. I kept the card in my wallet and found it! It turned out to be a blessing in disguise. After I was turned down, I called the office of Blitshtein & Weiss. The firm represented me from start to finish the whole appeal process, diligently keeping up with all of my paperwork and procedures.
